Wait For Me

This is the title of my project. It stems from the idea of being lost in time.
Looking back on my childhood and how I was as a child. Being reminded of my thoughts, dreams and innocents. The extent of a child's imagination - living in their own special world.

Collecting, memory, emotion, escape, mysterious, comfort, nostalgia, longing for simpler times. Has historical qualities within the project but while also injecting a fresh, modern look.

The idea of innocence - not fully growing up. The world is moving at such a fast rate that sometimes one can feel left behind, over-whelmed or lost. The fear of losing ourselves, our heritage and traditions. A need to hold onto these comforts to remind us of our history and past.

A young child is very observant, taking in everything around them - embracing it.
They have time to: stop, stand & stare.

Quote:
'The true secret of happiness lies in taking a genuine interest in all the details of daily life.' William Morris.

As a child I remember exploring and loving gardens, taking in nature in all its beauty. The peace, calm, soft, light, abundance, preciousness, quietness, freedom, escapism, belonging.

'Chinese Lanterns,' 1886 by John Singer Sargent.
This picture is one of my favourite paintings. This is what inspired the theme of the project and set the tone throughout.
